Objectives Tactics
Obtain Clear Budgeting and Cost Guidelines
  • Work with Operations Director and Solutions Development Director to develop budgeting for different areas of HR (Recruitment, Benefits, Training)
Ensure we are appropriately staffed: right number of people, with the right skills, in the right jobs actively contributing to company goals
  • Pre-employment testing/ screening
  • Create, improve, & implement Hiring Process Model
  • Establish a Staffing Request Form to clearly communicate details of open position
  • Reduce attrition
  • Develop and communicate Training Program and training materials/ resources
  • Well defined, reasonable and flexible staffing plan
  • Work with Supervisors to refine and develop this process to meet their needs and HR needs
  • Work with Solutions Director to help create a system to forecast staffing needs
  • Maintain and enhance a diverse work environment
Help to create and maintain a positive work environment respectful of all employees and treating them fairly and equally
  • Work with Supervisors to develop a system for regular rewards and recognition
Ensure a welcoming environment and smooth transition for new employees on their start date and throughout the Hiring & Orientation processes
  • Smooth out new start process (set-up and preparation)
  • Manage new employee expectations (clear offer letters, etc.)
  • Provide guidance on benefits questions and enrollment
  • Complete and submit paperwork accurately and on-time
Create, administer, and communicate to employees a competitive Benefits Program that meets employee needs and is within company budget
  • Pull together a high quality, complete benefits plan within company budget
  • Track benefits costs
  • Involve employees in decision making process (Benefit Committee)
  • Continuous Communication of benefits plan to employees (through meetings, documentation, orientation materials, etc.)
  • Be a valuable and knowledgeable resource for employees with benefits and HR questions
  • Create plan to use Company Intranet to communicate with associates
  • Ensure annual reviews/ salary reviews are done on a timely basis
Maintain and enhance a diverse work environment
  • Attend Recruiting events targeted at diverse groups
  • Encourage and foster a support environment (Mentor Programs, etc.)
Create Systems to ensure legal compliance
  • EEOC
  • Audit personnel files
  • Audit I-9s
  • Take action to proactively ensure legal compliance where necessary
  • Create an HR library of legal resources and reference material
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets with employee information- eventually work with someone to create employee database
Reduce recruiting costs
  • Reduce the usage of Staffing/ recruiting agencies
  • Maintain active resume base and flow of interested candidates
  • Attend recruiting events and serve as representative of Company
